The link to a workshop which recently discussed the potential ban of XLBully’s also discussed where we are to date with the law. While Northern Ireland’s law will be different than in England, our government considers what has already taken place at Westminster prior to adopting here. We do not have an Assembly as present, so there are concerns to what will happen here in Northern Ireland prior to any legislation being passed to ban these dogs, or to prosecute ownership. Causeway Coast Dog Rescue attended the seminar, and believe that tighter restrictions should be installed into the ownership of these dogs, however, at present we recognise there are a number of factors that need to be identified and clarified prior to any future change in legislation… for your information,
