Dr Tara Quinn, (CPsychol, AFBPsS) will be one of our Keynote Speakers tomorrow as we host our 2nd annual conference in Parliament Buildings Stormont. Wednesday 2nd October 2024, 9am to 3.30pm.
Dr Tara has been helping and supporting our animal welfare charity volunteers with free councilling after we approached her to discuss what volunteers and staff are going through in their experiences of witnessing animal abuse.
This new book, ‘The Adversity Psychologist’ is on sale today and will definately be a discussion feature at our event tomorrow. HCPC Registered Counselling/Practitioner Psychologist, an Associate Fellow British Psychological Society, and a Director- Conversation Starter Project, Dr Quinn is a regular on television offering expertise when quizzed by a local or national reporter, as recently viewed on both UK and USA Television.
Supporting volunteers and staff in animal welfare charities has not been addressed before, and during 2023 we recognised the impact it was having on work and home life for those in the animal welfare industry. After a long discussion, Dr Quinn offered to suport with monthly, confidential sessions enabling all those working in Northern Irelnd Charities to avail of the free advice and guidance. Since then, many charities all over the UK are now either securing support to improve the health and well being of volunteers, or considering it.
